Kaitlin was dancing almost as soon as she could walk. Her passion for the artform led her to complete a Bachelor of Creative Industries in Dance (with Distinction) from QUT in 2007. She went on to tour as a dancer with the Queensland Arts Council and performed widely in both corporate and community settings. It was during her university years that Kaitlin discovered her love for teaching, working across primary and secondary schools as well as dance studios around Brisbane.
In addition to her studio work, Kaitlin has held arts education and project coordination roles at major institutions including the Queensland Performing Arts Centre, Artslink Queensland, and The Arts Centre Gold Coast. She was also the Queensland reviewer for Dancetrain magazine from 2008 to 2014 and continues to adjudicate eisteddfods and competitions, offering mentorship to aspiring dancers.
Kaitlin became an examiner for the Southern Federation of Dance in 2020, assessing students nationwide in ballet, jazz, and tap. She completed a Master of Arts by Research in 2017 at QUT, exploring talent identification and development in Australian ballet dancers, and began her PhD in 2020, focusing on early specialisation in ballet.
Outside of her professional life, Kaitlin is a proud mum to two kids, two dogs, and four chickens, and enjoys the coastal lifestyle of Wynnum, where she calls home.
