The CUA30120 Certificate III in Dance is ideal for dancers wanting to further their training in dance without committing to full time study, while continuing their regular studio training at Bayside Dance. Much of the practical component is integrated into the classes they already attend, with only one additional two-hour theory class each week required.

The course offers a holistic approach to dance education, blending practical training with theoretical knowledge and career exploration. By beginning with body conditioning and emphasising self- care through strength and flexibility, students are equipped with essential tools for a sustainable dance future. Studying my Certificate III in Dance at Bayside Dance was an inspiring experience that helped me grow as a dancer. I found the course to be highly engaging, and the balance between theory and practical work helped me build skills not just in my dance performance, but in knowledge of safe dance practice, assistant dance teaching and dance history. Being able to complete my practical hours at Bayside Dance was very convenient when balancing a busy school schedule, and the team was always supportive and inclusive. I studied the Certificate III in Dance through Bayside Dance in 2021. This was while I was in year 11 and it was a time where I knew I wanted to keep focusing on my dancing and gain more skills for things like teaching, choreographing and merely having a qualification at a young age! I have a lot of fun memories from this phase of my studying, and it also brought me a lot closer to the people I did it with. This certification supported me in learning to perform, teach, and take care of myself as a dancer, as well as assisting me with the opportunity to teach and cover more classes at BD. I have now just graduated my Bachelor of Arts (Dance) and the Western Australian Academy of the Arts (WAAPA) and having prior experience in higher education study truly helped me prepare myself for self regulation, adaptability and focus. Looking back, I am very grateful I chose to do this certification through BD and would absolutely recommend it to anyone thinking of giving it a try!
