Welcome to your monthly Bayside Dance newsletter! Read on to find out all about what’s been happening at dance and what’s coming up next. Our monthly newsletters are a great way to share information so we encourage you to take a few minutes to read it through.

The story you know and love is being performed LIVE ON STAGE by our very own dancers! Featuring Anna, Elsa, Olaf and all your favourite songs, this 60-minute adaptation is a perfect piece of entertainment for young audiences. There are limited tickets remaining so jump in quick to secure yours.

Children aged 4-17 $22.50
Children aged 3 and under can sit on an adult’s lap for FREE!

*This production of Frozen JR is the major performance for our Musical Theatre students. Students enrolled in ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary, hip hop, acro, or any preschool classes are working towards our end-of-year concerts in November.

Join the cast of High School Musical JR!
Registrations are open for our December holiday musical theatre workshop! Dancers aged 10-18 can have two weeks of singing, dancing and acting as we learn an entire musical in just ten days. Also open to performers from outside Bayside Dance so bring your friends!

Crazy Hair Week!
To celebrate the end of another wonderful term, Week 10 will be crazy hair week! Get out the hair chalk, scrunchies, colourful accessories or whatever else you’d like to use. Let your creativity shine and join in the fun!

Important Info: Enrolment Changes

As we have now hit the midpoint of term, costumes for our end-of-year concerts have been ordered so there should be no more enrolment changes. If you do need to change your dancers’ enrolment, please get in touch ASAP but know that we have likely already purchased them a costume for their current class.

Special Project!

Did you know this year marks Bayside Dance’s 10th concert season? For this year’s concerts, we’ll be celebrating nearly 10 years of dancing by remembering the best of Bayside Dance and we need your help for a special project!

We’re putting together a slideshow featuring memories from our nearly ten years of dance together and you can help by emailing your favourite dance memory photos to hello@baysidedance.com.au

We want to see photos of your first day of dance, your concert or performance memories, recent photos and more!

A new way to enrol in 2024!

Can you believe we are in August already?

The years seem to disappear so quickly! As a studio, while there is still so much of 2023 to deliver, we now start to turn towards planning for 2024.

I always approach the new year with a lot of intention, evaluating what has worked well, where we can improve and where we can simplify our processes. Our journey into timetable planning for each year begins in June, with an assessment of the number of students we have in each class, where they might move up to, what classes we think will be popular, who is most gifted at teaching what styles and age groups, our waiting room capacity at busy times, and more!

In considering 2024, we’ve decided to make one change that I think will thrill parents. Because we are nearing capacity in all most classes, we’ve decided to change from “re-enrolment” to “rollover”. Essentially what it means is that instead of having to sprint to re-enrol your dancer into classes in 2024, we will have already enrolled them for you! You’ll be given the opportunity to then make changes before locking in for 2024. The benefits for you as parents will be:

Ease – we’ve taken care of the hard work figuring out which level your dancer goes into and will eliminate the possibility that they’ve been booked into the wrong class. You can tick that off your list!
Time – we’ll save you heaps of time in re-enrolling. Changes can be made with a quick email!
Confidence that your dancer’s place in class will be held and you won’t miss out!
You’ll be prepared for 2024 well ahead of time and can breathe easy through the end of term 4 school craziness

We’ll still have an opportunity for dancers to try new classes after our concerts, which is always popular, and we’ll still be sending out our “report cards” for school aged students so that they can receive lovely feedback from their dance teacher.

I’m looking forward to implementing this change and making life just a little easier for our dance families! We’ll be sending out your rollover information for 2024 early in Term 4.

What’s Been Happening?

Beenleigh Eisteddfod
Our 2023 Performance Teams have had a busy few weekends competing at Quota Beenleigh Eisteddfod! Beenleigh Eisteddfod marks the end of the 2023 competition calendar and we are so proud of all of their efforts throughout the year. Performance Teams definitely aren’t over, though. They now turn their attention to community events and our end-of-year concerts. Apply now to be part of Performance Teams in 2024!

Frozen JR rehearsals!
With less than two weeks until the show, our Frozen JR cast were in the studio on Sunday for a special whole cast rehearsal. This years’ musical has students from Prep to Year 10 all collaborating and sharing the stage, and these extra rehearsals are such fun days as the different age groups who have been rehearsing separately get to come together. Curious to see what they’ve been working on? Tickets are on sale now!
