Woo hoo! We have released our music video shot entirely in isolation to help our students ‘dance through this’ difficult time.
The song Dance Through This was written and produced by Bayside Dance staff and the video stars many of our dancers, featuring footage shot at home. View the music video below!
Within a few days, our music video had nearly 5,000 views on social media! We have also had fantastic feedback from the dance and parent community.
I wanted to create the music video as a way for our students to work on something creative together, even though you’re all physically separated. The joy and positivity it has generated has been amazing!
With normal performance opportunities such as eisteddfods, parent-watching and our mid-year showcase cancelled, this project has helped our dancers to feel they are still part of a team and can create something wonderful together.
It’s all part of our digital engagement strategy to keep kids dancing.
I know our dancers have endured so much disappointment this year, and I was determined that dance classes wouldn’t be one of them.
Continuing dance classes online has allowed our students to keep doing what they love, as well as providing them with some normality, structure and exercise.
Our students are continuing their dance education at home, and they also get to see their dance friends online, which they love.
Parents love it too, as it allows them to work from home or do chores uninterrupted while their kids are happy and engaged.
Thank you to everyone who was part of the creation of it!
