Important Info: Enrolment Changes
TERM 4 INVOICES Term 4 invoices have been sent out so make sure to check your emails and let us know if you haven’t received it. Any enrolment changes must be sent to us before 15th September. If your dancer had committed to concert, their costume and t-shirt have already been purchased so the remainder of the concert package will still be owing and the costume and t-shirt will be theirs to collect and keep when available.
ENROLMENT IN 2024 Enrolling for classes in 2024 will look different to years previous. Why? Because we’re going to do it for you! We’re moving from a “re-enrolment” system to a “rollover” system so later in Term 4, we won’t be asking you to enrol, we’ll do all the hard work and will just give you your timetable. As always, there will be time after the concerts for dancers to try new classes and let us know any changes that you’d like to make. See last month’s newsletter for more information.
HEADING INTO PREP IN 2024? If your dancer is heading into PREP in 2024, a whole new world of dance classes becomes available to them! To help us enrol your dancer in the class that most interests them, we’re asking parents to complete a short survey. Forms are due Saturday 16 September.
LAST CHANCE to be part of our Special Project!
Did you know this year marks Bayside Dance’s 10th concert season? For this year’s concerts, we’ll be celebrating nearly 10 years of dancing by remembering the best of Bayside Dance and we need your help for a special project!
We’re putting together a slideshow featuring memories from our nearly ten years of dance together and you can help by emailing your favourite dance memory photos to hello@baysidedance.com.au
We want to see photos of your first day of dance, your concert or performance memories, recent photos and more!
Please note:
– maximum 5 photos per dancer/family
– photos must be original and not from Facebook/Instagram
We can’t wait to revisit our dance memories with you!
From Miss Kaitlin
In 2022 I was thrilled to work on a project for the ballet, jazz and tap syllabus that we teach. I worked with the examiner board from Southern Federation of Dance to achieve Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority accreditation for levels 7-10 Tap, levels 7-9 Jazz and Pre-Elementary to Intermediate classical ballet.
This means that dancers all over Queensland who sit these high level exams in year 11 and 12 will receive a point towards their Queensland Certificate of Education – a wonderful recognition of their dedication to pursuing extra curricular activities. (Level 10 Jazz and Advanced Classical are being added to the schedule this year too!)
As a studio, we are excited to assist our dancers with several vocational courses (e.g, Certificate III in dance) that can count towards their QCE and ATAR. Stay tuned for a special announcement in the coming months regarding further pathways for our DanceStep student teacher training program too!

What’s Been Happening?
Frozen JR!
Congratulations to our Musical Theatre and TDP dancers on their magical production of Disney’s FROZEN JR! The cast of 70 dancers performed two shows last Saturday 26 August, performing for over 400 people. Massive thanks to Musical Theatre teachers, Miss Lauren and Miss Maddi, and all of our team who helped make the day happen.
Mock Exams Our Level 9 and 10 Jazz dancers have undergone mock exams ahead of their SFD Examinations later this term. We are so proud to see our older dancers taking on these high-level exams which challenge their stamina, virtuosity, adaptability and even own choreography!
